Carpool for free
Carpool for free using the HOV lane: HOV Lanes are restricted lanes reserved for vehicles with a driver and one or more passengers. Each vehicle that travels on an HOV Lane must carry at least two or, in some cases, three people. HOV Lanes allow drivers to travel faster and avoid congestion in regular lanes during peak periods. Motorcycles are permitted to travel on the HOV Lane at any time as per federal guidelines.
EZ Tag
Pay for the fast lane (aka EZ tag): For those who are unable to carpool and use the HOV lane, there is also another option to access the fast lane using the EZ tag. First and foremost, an EZ TAG account is not required, it is highly recommended for greater access and convenience. Qualifying vehicles may use the all-electronic (EZ TAG Only) toll lanes and will automatically receive the discounted tolling rate.
How does the Ez Tag work?
An EZ TAG is a small adhesive device that adheres to the inside of the windshield. As EZ TAG customers use the system, tolls are electronically deducted from their account. When the EZ TAG account reaches the minimum balance level, it automatically charges (debits) the customer’s credit card or bank account to bring it back to the original deposit amount. You have got to experience
Fulshear is a tight-knit, welcoming city with the convenience of city living with a small-town ambiance.
As the city of Fulshear continues to flourish, its real estate market blooms year after year. Known as Fort Bend County's hot spot, Fulshear features the highest per capita income and educational attainment in the area. Not to mention, it is rich in history, unique in landscape and is located only 20 minutes from the Katy-Houston area.
In some ways, Fulshear is the new Katy, as Houston’s growth marches ever westward, and as large tracts of developable land in Katy become harder to find. Today, Fulshear has some of the newest, largest and most successful master-planned communities in the Houston region, including Cross Creek Ranch and Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek
How we maintain and grow as a community
There are two MUD districts in Fulshear, Texas.
MUD stands for Municipal Utility District, which is a subdivision of the State of Texas that is created to build infrastructure and provide services such as water, sewer, and stormwater drainage in areas where a city cannot provide them. A MUD might be created for a brand new community that sits just outside Houston's public water services, for example. Municipal Utility Districts are funded through bonds. Homeowners then pay off those bonds through MUD tax. As the debt decreases, MUD taxes may also decrease over time.
In addition to their common functions of water and wastewater service, MUDs are legally empowered to engage in conservation, irrigation, electrical generation, firefighting, solid waste collection and disposal, and recreational activities (such as parks, swimming pools, and sports courts). A MUD can provide for itself the recreational amenities that are approved by the Board of Directors and funded by the District.
MUD tax rates, like all property tax rates, vary according to property values and debt requirements. MUD rates generally decline over time as the MUD is built out and operating and debt service costs are shared by more homeowners.
